Update 29/8: What a fantastic response, thank you, everyone! We’ve received over 40 submissions in less than 24 hours. You can see the localization files in the WooCart public repository. There are still more countries to localize and we’re looking forward to even more of your submissions!
A few weeks back when we mentioned in passing in our newsletter that we need people to help us with localization, we received a fantastic and generous response, 29 people offering help for 20 countries! Unfortunately, we were not ready for it so we only took a list of people who wanted to contribute.
But, we are ready to start now. There are a lot of things that can be localized – from local standards, translations, payment gateways, to shipping couriers and accounting software. We intend to tackle it all. That said, we need to start with something simple so we’re doing standards and user registration form disclaimer translation first.
All of the submissions will be open sourced. You can already find our current localization files on our public repository. Once we’re done with WooCart localization, we’ll help out the WordPress and WooCommerce community to translate any missing languages.
